Turnout vs Browserosaurus

Browserosaurus was a free, open source picker that showed your browsers whenever you clicked a link. Its GitHub repository was archived in August 2025, so it no longer gets updates. Turnout keeps the picker and adds rules, so most links don’t need a choice at all.

Choose Browserosaurus if

  • It already works for you on your current macOS and you don’t need updates.

Choose Turnout if

  • You want a maintained app that keeps up with new macOS releases.
  • You want the picker plus rules, so routine links open without asking.
  • You want links to go to a specific Chrome profile.

Switching from Browserosaurus

Once Turnout is out, install it, choose it as your default browser, and set the fallback to “Ask each time” to keep the Browserosaurus feel. Add rules as you go: tick “Always open here” in the picker.

Turnout is coming soon. Join the waiting list and we’ll email you when it’s ready.
